Thomas Jefferson Religion God Christianity

I will post some quotes from other notable figures from history on the subject of Religion, God and Christianity in up coming posts. Thomas Jefferson had some interesting views on Religion, God and Christianity. Here are some Jefferson quotes below.

Thomas Jefferson Religion God Christianity

“Question with boldness even the existence of a god, because if there be one he must approve of the homage of reason more than that of blindfolded fear.”

“Millions of innocent men, women, and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined, and imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity.”

“And the day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the Supreme Being as his father in the womb of a virgin will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerva in the brain of Jupiter. But may we hope that the dawn of reason and freedom of thought in these United States will do away with this artificial scaffolding, and restore to us the primitive and genuine doctrines of this most venerated reformer of human errors.”

“In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own.”

“History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest- ridden people maintaining a free civil government. This marks the lowest grade of ignorance of which their civil as well as religious leaders will always avail themselves for their own purposes.”

“The clergy, by getting themselves established by law and in-grafted into the machine of government, have been a very formidable engine against the civil and religious rights of man.”

“The whole history of these books (i.e. the Gospels) is so defective and doubtful that it seems vain to attempt minute enquiry into it: and such tricks have been played with their text, and with the texts of other books relating to them, that we have a right, from that cause, to entertain much doubt what parts of them are genuine. In the New Testament there is internal evidence that parts of it have proceeded from an extraordinary man; and that other parts are of the fabric of very inferior minds. It is as easy to separate those parts, as to pick out diamonds from dunghills.” “Christianity neither is, nor ever was a part of the common law.”

Varying Views On Religion

Varying Views On Religion

There are many varying views on religion. A good discourse on religion between anti-religion Bill Maher and pro-religion Ross Douthat can be viewed here. I came across this interview and thought it was valuable due to the fact that we have two celebrities with Maher being the stellar name of the two, and Douthat being an author. Both have researched the topics of Religion and God etc. and are positioned at the opposite ends of the spectrum. I chose this interview not only for that reason but also due to the fact that within the time constraints of the television segment, I found the dialogue to be of intellectual nature, informative and thought provoking from both gentleman. And here are the views from two revered men, Albert Einstein and Thomas Jefferson.

Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein’s religious views have been studied extensively. He said he believed in the “pantheistic” God of Baruch Spinoza, but not in a personal god, a belief he criticized. He also called himself an agnostic, while disassociating himself from the label atheist, preferring, he said, “an attitude of humility corresponding to the weakness of our intellectual understanding of nature and of our own being.”

Pantheism is the belief that the universe (or nature as the totality of everything) is identical with divinity, or that everything composes an all- encompassing, immanent God. Pantheists, thus, do not believe in a distinct personal or anthropomorphic god. Some Asian religions are considered to be pantheistically inclined.

Agnostic is a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God or of anything beyond material phenomena; a person who claims neither faith nor disbelief in God. Atheist is a person who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings.

Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson rejected the superstitions and mysticism of Christianity and even went so far as to edit the gospels, removing the miracles and mysticism of Jesus (Google “The Jefferson Bible”) leaving only what he deemed the correct moral philosophy of Jesus.

Christianity Parody On The Worship Of The Sun?

Christianity Parody On The Worship Of The Sun?

“The Christian religion is a parody on the worship of the sun, in which they put a man called Christ in the place of the sun and pay him the adoration originally paid to the sun” – Thomas Paine

While reflecting on the subject of God and Religion, it’s time to visit Zeitgeist. Zeitgeist is the most downloaded documentary in Internet history. What does the word itself mean? Zeitgeist is the intellectual fashion or dominant school of thought that typifies and influences the culture of a particular period in time.

Zeitgeist

Zeitgeist was released in 2007 with the follow-up documentary titled Zeitgeist Two Addendum having been released in 2008. On January 15, 2011, the third of the series, Zeitgeist Moving Forward was released independently in over 60 countries and in over 30 languages with 340 screenings worldwide, likely the largest independent documentary release of its kind in history. The following text below has been taken from the film Zeitgeist, and raises an important question: is Christianity, along with all other theistic belief systems, the fraud of the age?

The introduction of this film illustrates the astro-theological basis of Christianity. The movie goes to great lengths, especially demonstrating that the birth narrative of Jesus of Nazareth is purely an allegory for astrological occurrences that took place during the purported time of his birth. The comparisons below as illustrated in the documentary are telling, and raises important questions.

Egypt 3000 BC – Horus

  • Born Dec. 25th
  • Born of the virgin named Mary
  • Birth was accompanied by a star in the east
  • 3 kings followed to locate and adorn the newborn savior
  • At the age of 12 he was a prodigal son and teacher
  • At the age of 30 he was baptized and began his ministry
  • Horus had 12 disciples he traveled with, performing
miracles such as healing the sick and walking on water
  • Horus was known as “The truth,” The Light,” “Gods anointed son,” “The good shepherd,” and “The Lamb of
God”
  • After being betrayed he was crucified, buried for 3 days,
and thus resurrected
Greece 1200 BC – Attis
  • Born of a virgin Dec. 25th
  • Crucified
  • Placed in a tomb for 3 days
  • Resurrected
Krishna of India – 900 BC
  • Born of a virgin
  • Star in the east
  • Performed miracles with his disciples
  • Upon his death was resurrected

into wine
  • Referred to as the King of Kings
  • God’s only begotten son
  • The Alpha and Omega
  • Resurrected upon his death

Mithra – Persia 1200 BC

  • Born of a virgin on Dec. 25
  • 12 disciples
  • Performed miracles
  • Dead 3 days
  • Resurrected
  • Sacred day of worship was Sunday

Jesus Christ

  • Born Dec. 25th
  • Born of the virgin named Mary
  • Birth was accompanied by a star in the east
  • 3 kings followed to locate and adorn the newborn savior
  • At the age of 12 he was a prodigal son and teacher

Note: There is a much longer list of saviors and solar messiahs that subscribes to these characteristics and many more of which are indicated in the film.

The Concept Of God

The Concept Of God
So we are basically told there is an old man in the sky (not a woman or neutral all-encompassing gender or perhaps no gender at all), but in fact a man, our Father. We call him “Father” or “Him.” We can’t see him, but we can feel him and he is always there. He is all-knowing and watches over each and every one of us on this planet, which is presently in excess of over seven billion people – we are his children. He hears and listens to and answers every one of our prayers. If you are good he will reward you and if you are bad he will punish you. I do want to be very clear about my position regarding my belief and my faith. I, like Albert Einstein and many others the world over, would say that Pantheism would best define my position on the subject at hand. Unfamiliar with the term? You can google it and look it up. I do believe in God and God is a concept which is perceived in many different ways by many different people who are in fact believers. I cast no judgment. This is a follow up to my previous post titled “Freedom From Religion”.

Now God, our Father, the creator of this universe, has given us free-will along with ten key rules. We are told there are prices to pay if we don’t follow these ten key rules. So then God, the creator of all that is, has also created three destinations. We are told there is hell – a burning place of fire and eternal suffering is in store for us should we not follow these rules, and we will be condemned to such a place for eternity. Uhm, but remember, God is good and God loves all of his children.

Conversely, we are told there is a place way, way up in the sky beyond the stars called heaven. If we follow these ten rules and pass the Judgment Day, we will be admitted into God’s house, the house called heaven. Here we will be rejoined with all the people who have died and been accepted into heaven, and we can enjoy eternity with them. In short, we will live in the kingdom and be happy with no fear or hate, simply abundance and love in the almighty protection of “Him,” our “Father.” You often hear people saying, “I know where I’m going when I die.”

Then there is a place in between this heaven and hell called purgatory; this is a kind of waiting place where one has their last chance to atone their sins until final judgment has been decided. It’s sort of like a one-man jury, one-man judgement system, you could say. You can be sent to heaven to enjoy eternal bliss or you can be sent to hell to suffer miserably forever with all of the evil sinners. Ten rules, three destinations, one-man jury and judge – a fascinating concept. More on this subject of God and Religion next week.

Freedom From Religion?

Freedom From Religion?
“I looked in temples, churches, and mosques but I found the divine within my heart” – Rumi. Before I touch upon these highly controversial subjects, God and Religion, I want to be very clear about my position regarding my belief and my faith. I, like Albert Einstein and many others the world over, would say that Pantheism would best define my position on the subject at hand. This is a follow up to my previous post titled “God Has No religion”

Each religion and branch spin-offs within religions all seem to claim they have the answers, and it is only through their doctrines and scriptures that your salvation can be obtained, oh really? I would submit that religion divides us instead of what all religions preach, and that is to unite us.

As one looks further into who we are, why we are here, and what we are here for, the more you will see how much we have been lied to by nearly every institution over the course of history. This includes people, governments, education systems, presidents, kings, world leaders, the media, and so on with religion possibly being the very leading source of the most critical lies of all. Thus the enslavement of societies. “Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it” – Adolf Hitler

Religion diverts man to destructive courses. The bloodshed caused by Christianity is well documented throughout time. It can be said that history shows religion as one of the leading causes of death and most all are guilty, such as the Hindus, Muslims, Christians, the Jews, etc. All took turns killing each other for thousands of years. At the time of this writing we have ISIS (seemingly has hijacked the religion of Islam) being used as the religious flavor of the day, wiping away Christians (in the main). Gandhi said, “The most heinous and the most cruel crimes which history has recorded have been committed under the cover of religion or equally notable motives.”

Many wars are based on religious hatred, and today religion is simply used as a means to assist the global elitists, the merchants of chaos, in establishing its long sought-after goal of a Global Governance. The blind “sheeple” pay the price as they defend their religion and beliefs with unwavering dedication and loyal commitment on either one side or the other, with each side killing in he name of their God. That’s just what the global elitists enjoy most, creating conflict amongst the people so they kill each other off and reduce the surplus population as an additional benefit. This new Pope (a NWO selectee), requires a blog dedicated just to him. Stay tuned.

Think about it how religion often times justifies acts of violence and madness such as killing the infidels and being rewarded with virgins in heaven, or in another religion you may be offered a planet upon your death. We have priests (even some from within the Vatican) as pedophiles. History has given us crucifixions and people being burned at the stake simply because of the “you don’t believe like me” mentality, all in the name of God. Think about the strife and struggles you have experienced in your life with family members, within marriages, and with friends, etc., simply because of the “you don’t believe like me” mentality. You know, “my faith, my religion, my church, my temple, my mosque over there on main street, we have the only way to heaven and we are right and if you don’t believe like me and do this or that, you will not get to heaven.” Stop and grow up already – think outside the box. Re-evaluate and think for yourself. Enough is enough; it’s time to step outside the controlled matrix.

Religions seem to have many promises and exaggerated claims, many of which cannot be proven therefore they can potentially be twisted, aberrated, or even completely false. It’s certainly up for intelligent debate rather than blind faith and arrogant servitude. Some religions charge a fortune to potentially gain access to their eternal freedom. And lastly, religions take in billions of dollars if not more and pay no taxes, and they always seem to need and ask for more money. God does not need money and God has no religion. And this present Pope is part of the matrix, part of the system. He is so not Godly at all. Have a close look at Agenda 2030. Do your homework on this man.

This tells you something is very wrong with the systems and structures that have been in place for many years and are still in place today. True change is needed and can only come about when lies are exposed, truths are revealed, and people actually begin to think for themselves. I will delve into the concept of God in my next blog post on God and religion.
