My Best Day in Medicine

The following post, “My Best Day in Medicine”, was written by my good friend, the founder of PollMole, Dr. Richard Davis. I also would like to take this opportunity and invite you to read a nine part series, (eye opening insights into “Big Pharma”), also authored by Dr. Richard Davis, posted here on my site titled The Things Your Doctor Won’t Tell You.

My Best Day in Medicine

With an inch of new slush, it was a cold and damp evening in Richmond, that eventful day in 1980. I was like all of the other 4th year MCV students rotating through the VA, full of naiveite, piss and vinegar, preparing to launch a career of healing the sick and stamping out disease. Then, I was totally unaware of the Pharmaceutical Industrial Complex, of the power of the FDA, of medical politics, and all of the other issues swirling in my periphery, that I would learn to confront during my 36 years of practice.

In the wee hours of the morning my pager went off summoning me to the ER to admit an incoming patient. When I arrived, I was greeted with a stench seldom experienced outside the real battlefields where our veterans served. An aide led me to a gurney where I bore witness to a horror few people will ever see. Behind the massive lice-filled beard and matted hair complex, the yellow, curled nails – untrimmed for an eternity, a barrier of maggot filled lesions, of unwashed, unkept skin embedded in a shredded blanket, was 65 pounds of twisted anatomy. It was the barely discernable living remains of a half-frozen human being.

One of his legs had been replaced at the knee with a makeshift bandage of McDonald’s napkins that oozed green pseudomonas pus. I could go on, but you get the picture.

Since no one in the ER would go near him, I ordered him to the ER’s Hubbard tank that had been purloined from a burn unit somewhere for this express purpose. Two hours later, the remnants of man emerged. Cachexic, semiconscious, and unidentified, he lay before me, a medical train wreck, a human disaster. His scarred veins long ago collapsed from innumerable needles, were useless. I asked a resident to place a central line for labs. I went to attend rounds.

The next day, Mr. Doe’s numbers began to trickle in. He was in the ER still, at the end of the hall with shallow gurgling that I interpreted as breathing. The ICU would not take him due to the infectious risk. His labs were the worst I had ever seen. My attending had written DNR on his chart. There was nothing to be done but wait.

I went to his bedside and took him by the wrist to take his pulse. He moaned feebly and with whatever strength he could muster, imperceptibly closed his hand on mine as if to say thank you, don’t leave just yet. So, I just stood there, not knowing what else to do but hold his hand. A few minutes later he was gone. As I was turning away I realized that although nothing medical could be done for him, I had given him something that he had craved for years of untold abuse and neglect. I had treated him with respect, dignity and compassion.

Although I will never know why, at the end of my shift that day, before going home to collapse, I went to the morgue – I guess to say goodbye. I had never had anyone die in my arms before.

No autopsy had been performed, but on the sheet was an open envelope. It contained a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. I have no idea where they had been discovered or how they got there. I just knew that at one time before the ravages of war and half a lifetime of PTSD, Mr. Doe had been a young man full of piss and vinegar, probably not too much different than me.

The images of that day have never left me, because I learned the two most valuable lessons of my life:

  1. There but for the ‘Grace of God’ go I, and
  2. It is far better to be kind than right…

Happy Trump Year

“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they challenge you, then you win” – Mahatma Gandhi. We can once again be the hope, promise and a beacon of light on the shinning hill for all of the world. There is a lot of work to be done. It will not be fast. It will not be easy, and the desired outcome is not guaranteed. But never underestimate what one man can do. Donald Trump has awakened and inspired a nation and people all over the world. The power of this awakening can never be quantified. In this, there is hope and promise for a better tomorrow. By the grace of God, we may prevail. The Resurrection of America has begun. Let us not squander this miraculous opportunity. I will close out the pages of this book with an optimistic message of hope from President Donald J. Trump, our new Commander in Chief who has inspired a nation and the world as he leads America through its second revolution. Together we will save America. Happy Trump Year!

Happy Trump Year

“The American people have shown the world that we still run our country. I will never forget you. I will never ever stop fighting for you. I will never ever let you down. In four years we will win again and by even more. The era of economic surrender is over. You the people will have a champion who will fight for you in the White House, because from now on it’s going to be America first.”

“People say we live in a globalized world – but the relationships that people value most are local. Family, city, state and country. There is no such thing as a global anthem, a global currency, or a global flag. We salute one flag and that is the American flag. Buy American and hire American.”

“This is truly an exciting time to be alive. The script is not yet written. We do not know what the page will read to tomorrow. But for the first time in a long, long time, what we do know is that the pages will be authored by each and every one of you. You the American people will finally be in charge again. Your voice, your desires your hopes and aspirations will never again fall on deaf ears. The forgotten men and women of our country will not be forgotten anymore.”

“We will we re-establish the rule of law. Defend the second amendment, protect religious liberty and appointment justices to the United States Supreme Court who will uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States. We will heal our divisions and unify our country. We will be a unified country again. When Americans are unified there is nothing that we cannot do. No task is too great. No dream too large. No goal beyond our reach.”

“My message tonight is for all Americans from all parties, all beliefs, all walks of life. Whether you are African American, Hispanic American, or Asian American or whatever the hell you are, remember that we are all Americans. And we are all united by one shared destiny.”

“So, I am asking everyone to join this incredible movement. I am asking you to dream big, and bold and daring things for your family and for your country. I am asking you to believe in yourself again and I am asking you to believe in America. And if we do that then all together we will make America strong again, we will make America wealthy again, we will make America safe again and we will make America great again. God Bless you!” – Donald J. Trump

The Flame

While living at an elevation in excess of 8,000 feet with a population of approximately 900 people, high country South West Colorado, I wrote this song titled “The Flame”. The best way that I can describe the meaning of the this song begins with first defining some of the terms within. A rough demo was recorded and can be listened to by clicking on the link at the bottom of this post.

“I AM” And The Flame

The terms “I AM” and “The Flame” for me personally, have specific meaning. When Moses came upon the burning bush when asked “who shall I say sent me my Lord”, the response was “I AM” that “I AM”, “I AM” sent you. “I AM” representing the almighty one, God, the supreme being, the light, love and power of this universe. It has been said that these words yield much power so one is to be cognizant of what is spoken after the words “I AM”. “The Flame” for me signifies the burning bush or “The One”. The flame is pure. The flame cleanses. The flame dissolves the discord that we create and that surrounds us. Thus (from the song), “I call to that flame and it enfolds me here, Almighty “I AM”.

Based upon the works of a group called the “Saint Germain Foundation,” which aligns with the “Law of Attraction”, I may invoke the words “I AM” prior to a decree of what I am asking for in my life. The words “I AM” signifies the energy source and force and invokes all the powers of the creator of this universe. And so, when you invoke and preface your decrees, the “ask” part of what you desire in life, I often times may preface it with “I AM” like in this example…“Beloved Mighty, “I AM” presence, see that I have increasing, improving, and continuing good health” or “I AM” the purest of light’s energy and as part of my soul’s expression “I AM” awakening, “I AM” inspiring, and “I AM” motivating those I connect with to be in the light and to be an expression of their souls.” Or “I AM” attracting only creative, positive, and productive ideas and thoughts in my life.”

Meaning Of The Song

1999-2000 was a very pivotal transitional period for me on a spiritual level, very creative time in my life. I moved to the high country. Soaked in hot mineral springs and spent time in vapor caves. I took daily walks in the mountains. I was alone. I read many books and I wrote many songs during this period of time. The songs had a common theme, that being freedom. With titles such as “We Are America”, “Save America“, “Fight For What’s Right“, “New World Order“, “The Golden Age”, “Message Of Love”, “The Flame” and many, many more, you can see the theme was freedom on many levels.

“The Flame” for me was a spiritual approach for cleansing myself. Forgiving myself for my past transgressions. Surrendering to that voice from within and learning to love myself and move forward in a more harmonious way creating a better life and a better world. So this song represents a part of that healing process if you will.

Be gone, from me, discordant misused energy. The past consumed. Gone for eternity. Knowing there’s nowhere else to place the blame. I call to that flame. And it enfolds me here. Almighty I AM. Almighty I AM. Almighty I AM. Yes I AM.

The love, the light, expanding all around me. Be still. In the silence I shall see that there is nowhere else to place the blame. I call to that flame. And it enfolds me here. Almighty I am. Almighty I am. Almighty I am. Yes I am, The One.

I Am Your Voice

The following was inspired by Donald Trumps’ speech at the RNC where he said “Every day I wake up determined to deliver a better life for the people all across this nation that have been ignored, neglected and abandoned”. “These are the forgotten men and women of our country but they’re not going to be forgotten for long.” “These are people who work hard but no longer have a voice. I am your voice”!

Rather than post my standard commentary and analysis format reflecting on the issues of our times, today I sit here in the mountainous region of Northern Thailand and write this poem. I hope you enjoy it. It’s called I AM Your Voice.

I Am Your Voice

As I walk alone down that old dirt road. I think to myself I feel it deep down in my soul. As I begin to wonder why, I pray and look up to the sky. Together with everyone all alone, out on my own. Fear not we will overcome for I AM your voice.

The years have passed so quickly and it seems they’ve turned the tide. Infiltrating America destroying my way of life. I can no longer walk the streets without fearing for my life. It’s hard to provide for my children and my wife. Fear not we will overcome for I AM your voice.

Woke up a stranger in a strange land longing for the good old days. Wishing my neighbor a Merry Christmas giving thanks and praise. Like an uninvited intruder casting doubt before I speak, political correctness, oh what havoc you wreak. Fear not we will overcome for I AM your voice.

The American nightmare was once the American dream. The enemy within carries out its clandestine scheme. But your days are now numbered for you can no longer hide. As we will sacrifice our lives to defend freedom for mankind. Fear not we will overcome for I AM your voice.

So feel it in your heart sing America I AM, oh America I AM. Forever embraced by the rainbow of light and love, oh America I AM. The light expanding, protecting America. Awaken now the choice is yours, oh world victorious. Fear not we will overcome for I AM your voice.

We Are America

We have this chance. We have this opportunity to not only restore this once great nation but in actual fact what we do right here, right now will determine the fate of humanity. I wrote this song back in 1999. I hope it inspires you in some way. In Donald Trump, we have our voice but we must act. We must speak the truth. Expose the lies and never give up. Pray, promote, donate and vote.

These Times They Are Revealing

I have written on this subject of what one might call the Paradigm Shift of Consciousness, and I refer to it here in this blog post as it relates to the arrival of Donald Trump onto the global stage concerning his run for the Presidency and what one might call his attempts to save Western Civilization and redirect humanity back on a more harmonious and pro-survival course. These are defining days and these times they are revealing. Massive confusion and chaos is here as we are midst a paradigm shift of consciousness as the forces of good and evil face off. There is a vast spiritual awakening in progress all across the world. Quietly (and in some cases not so quietly) many are recognizing and returning to the truth of the world in which we live and are beginning to understand that we have all been played. The messenger and leader, Donald Trump is shinning the bright light and the rats are running for cover.

These Times They Are Revealing

It’s a defining moment in history and it is clear as day to see which side of humanity any given person is on. There is a great opportunity that we must seize. We can help people to see what is going on, not by regurgitating the spoon fed talking points and narratives as directed by the government media complex propaganda machine, which divides us rather than unites us, but by finding that common ground that most all of us share, freedom, survival, love and opportunity for the lives and future of our children, grandchildren and loved ones, posterity for the human race.

These are revealing and defining times. Yes they have successfully dumbed-down, misled, misinformed and brainwashed many Americans and people throughout the world. Yes they have imported tens of millions of illegal aliens who will vote for the government that promises all the handouts. Yes they have created class warfare with blacks vs. whites, Muslims vs. Christians and Jews. Rich vs. poor, Democrats vs. Republicans, gay vs. straight, Liberals vs. Conservatives and so on. Yes they feed the unsuspecting populace the narrative and talking points which are blindly regurgitated by the ignorant and the programmed. But we have this chance in this great paradigm shift of consciousness that is occurring and shifting the tides, to inspire people to look. To apply critical thinking. To focus on the broad and big picture that will effect the lives of us all for generations to come. Ask the person “what kind of world do you want to live in’ ? A totalitarian global government or a sovereign nation protecting God-given rights? Below are some helpful links with regards to the above call to action.
