The following post was written by my good friend Dr. Richard Davis, MD who to date is the only contributing author to my blog site. You will be assigned a sort of a task as you get to the end of this important blog post. Should your curiosity nibble away at you, you will find yourself on a pathway that will be most enlightening (something you really should know about). I personally discovered this myself when introduced many years ago by a friend back in the U.S.A. I encourage you to read this participatory and interactive post – and may you never be the same again. Now this from Dr. Davis, titled The Devil’s in the Details and the Lunatic Fringe.
The Devil’s in the Details and the Lunatic Fringe
How many times have we heard the old saying: “The Devil’s in the details? Is it just an old wives’ tale? I think not. From my experience, it’s almost always true. So what about it? Ask yourself this question. If you had all of the time and money and staff in the world and you were put in charge of building the stage for one of the most watched events in the history of mankind, would you plan it down to the absolute smallest detail or would you just sort of wing it? Well I think the answer is obvious; don’t you? And while we are on the subject, don’t you think that you would design the stage itself to carry the message of the event, or not? For example – if it was going to be an event honoring Martin Luther King, wouldn’t the stage be festooned with things that reminded everyone of him? Sure, of course. No brainer, right?
Ok, so here is my question. What is the biggest difference between these two stages? Yes, I know. Everyone has already talked endlessly about the flags. Yes. I get it. And I know that everyone is sick of the subject and we are all being told to just move along, nothing to see here, right? I mean the Democrats finally did bring out their flags and did the right thing didn’t they? And they apologized profusely for the oversight, right? And so all’s well that ends well, right? Well…No, actually…I mean, what else is there to the story? Actually a lot. But, once again, you have to look at the details. So check it out…What do you see? Look closely now…Wait for it… Wait for it… Wait for it…There, do you see it?It’s right there. Ok, Ok I’ll show you…
Can you see it now? Not yet?
Oh, I see. You want a closer look? Okay. How about this? See it now?
How about now?
OK, give up? It’s the fringe silly. Yes, you see that little gold fringe around the flags on the DNC stage? Can you see that they are missing on the flags at the RNC? If you say so what, you are not alone… I’ll bet that only 1 person in a 100 know the difference. The significance is profound – flags without the fringe vs. flags with the fringe. Yes, my little Padawan, there is a difference, but I’m not going to tell you what it is. I’m not going to spoon feed you and give you the answer, because it’s too important. You need to put down your Pokémon go get off the sofa and go expend some energy and look it up for yourself. Then you’ll know why I’m not telling you. Then you’ll see all of the information and disinformation spewed out all over the Internet about this topic. And when you’re done, then you will understand why this is important – and you’ll remember it for the rest of your life, because you had to work for it. Truth takes digging. It takes time and effort and sometimes requires much from you. The search for truth is never easy; but it is a journey well worth the effort. So go on, I know you’re curious. Get up and go discover the truth. And when you do, let me be the first to welcome you to the real world – welcome to the lunatic fringe.
