US Southern Command forces obliterate narco-trafficking refueling station in the Eastern Pacific
US Southern Command forces interdicted and destroyed two floating refueling stations for drug trafficking operations in the eastern Pacific Ocean last week as operations against drug traffickers in the Western Hemisphere continue.
Both floating refueling stations were “operating in support of the Los Choneros violent narco-terrorist organization,” according to SOUTHCOM.
On Thursday, US forces interdicted, boarded, and searched a fueling station before blowing it to smithereens and sinking the vessel.
“Individuals removed from the vessel will be safely transferred to Ecuadorian authorities,” SOUTHCOM reported, noting that the Americas Counter Cartel Coalition, AKA the Shield of the Americas, a multinational alliance dedicated to destroying cartels in the Western Hemisphere, and the Department of War, remain unwavering in their mission to defeat narco-terrorists.”

Video from the interdiction shows US forces boarding the ship before completely destroying it.

On Saturday, SOUTHCOM released additional footage from another interdiction of a “multi-vessel” refueling station.
“Individuals removed from the main vessel have been transferred to Ecuadorian authorities. Once the main vessel was cleared and the crew disembarked, U.S. forces sank it and the attached support vessels,” SOUTHCOM said in a statement.

“JTF-WHEM continues to conduct precise and professional operations to dismantle the logistical networks fueling narco-trafficking in the Western Hemisphere.”
