“Chicago About to Find Out Why it’s Called the Department of WAR” – Trump Taunts Chicago in Truth Social Post Teasing ICE Operations | The Gateway Pundit

Tevin McLeod - September 6, 2025

President Trump reposted a meme on his Truth Social page, taunting Illinois officials with his incoming Department of War deployment and ICE enforcement operations in the lawless city of Chicago.
“I love the smell of deportations in the morning,” the meme states.
“Chicago about to find out why it’s called the Department of WAR.”
The AI generated photo depicts President Trump, wearing a hat similar to the Confederate uniform, with helicopters flying over Chicago in the background. The bottom left corner of the photo reads “Chipocalypse Now,” a nod apparent nod to the 2001 film Apocalypse Now.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump doubled down on threats to send troops and federal agents into Chicago and other Democrat-run high crime cities on Friday.
“We have the safest place, Washington, DC, and we’ll be going to other cities to help out,” he said.
“Preferably, we’d like to be asked, but in some cases, that just won’t happen because they’re people that don’t understand the word ask, people that don’t understand they’re in trouble, or they’re stupid.”

Trump Says He’s Going into Chicago and Other Cities Whether “Stupid” Leaders Ask Him to or Not – “You’re Going to be Safe Within Two Weeks”

This comes as Chicago braces for potential National Guard deployment, with Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson taking countermeasures to portray the city as safe, despite the high numbers of shootings and murders occurring every week.
It was revealed last week that 200 Homeland Security Officials will be deployed in Chicago as soon as this week and will potentially stay for the entire month of September.
The enforcement operations will be centered on arresting illegal aliens in the sanctuary state of Illinois, but the National Guard could be used to quell violent rioters, as done in Los Angeles, or to deter crime, as we are seeing in Washington, DC.
