WASHINGTON (TNND) — Former Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene slammed White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt for not ruling out a draft for the ongoing Iran conflict.
Over the weekend, an X clip went viral of Leavitt during a Fox News interview with Maria Bartiromo.
“Mothers out there are worried that we’re gonna have a draftthat they’re gonna see their sons and daughters get involved in this,” Bartiromo said in the clip. “What do you want to say about the president’s plans for troops on the ground as we know it’s been largely an air campaign up until now.”
Leavitt answered by saying a draft is not part of the plan in Iran, but Trump keeps options on the table.
“It has been and it will continue to be,” Leavitt said in response to Bartiromo’s air campaign comment. “And President Trump wisely does not remove options off of the table. I know a lot of politicians like to do that quickly, but the president as commander-in-chief wants to continue to access the success of this military operation. It’s not part of the current plan right now, but the president again wisely keeps his options on the table.”
Greene said the answer is no boots on the ground or regime change.
“Karoline Leavitt doesn’t rule out a draft,” Greene wrote on X. “How about the answer is NO DRAFT AND NO BOOTS ON THE GROUND because we campaigned on NO MORE FOREIGN WARS OR REGIME CHANGE!!! Liars every single one of them! Not my son, over my dead body!!!!!”
Last month, Israel and the U.S. launched joint strikes on Iran due to concerns about the Middle Eastern country building missiles.
