Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appeared to quickly leave a press conference held at the Oval Office on Thursday, November 6, when a man suddenly collapsed.
In a viral clip circulating on social media, an unidentified man (initially incorrectly said to be Novo Nordisk executive Gordon Findlay) began to fall to the ground — and as people went over to help him, RFK Jr. left the room.
“BREAKING: RFK Jr. flees the scene after Novo Nordisk Executive Gordon Findlay collapsed in the Oval Office,” Ed Krassenstein captioned the clip.
Some began to question why the 71-year-old “dipped out,” but a source told People that the Secretary of Health and Human Services “went into the other room and got a chair because when [the man] first started falling, he thought maybe he just needed to sit.”
“He went back and got a wet towel and came over and [the man] was on the floor,” the source, who was at the conference, explained. “When they were first propping him up, Kennedy ran in the other room and got a chair for him.”
The politicians were at the White House on Thursday as President Donald Trump announced lower costs for weight-loss drugs.
The People source added that there were “three doctors” around when the man collapsed while Eli Lilly CEO David Ricks was speaking.

Political website The Hill reports that the man who collapsed was one of the Eli Lilly guests and not Novo Nordisk’s Findlay. (Novo Nordisk told Newsweek that CEO Mike Doustdar and EVP of US Operations Dave Moore were the only two Novo Nordisk reps present).
“Gordon was one of the Lilly guests at the White House today. He became faint, and if you’ve ever been in the Oval Office, you stand a long time, and it’s warm,” said Ricks, according to The Hill. “Pleased to say that the White House medical staff did a great job and he’s doing great. So, nothing to be concerned about. Thanks for your concern.”
After the incident, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told the press pool that the man was doing “okay” and that the conference would resume.
Trump also addressed the incident, announcing that the man was receiving “doctor’s care” and that “he’s fine.”
The president added, “We had a little bit of an interruption. Sorry for that.”
