Leavitt was asked if the war efforts in Iran are considered a success, and her answer did not sit well with X users
During a press briefing, Karoline Leavitt was asked “if the president can declare this war effort a success if the U.S. does not retrieve Iran’s nuclear fuel” — but the press secretary began talking in circles.
According to Leavitt, Donald Trump refuses to answer this question, and she can’t answer for him, but even so, she addressed the topic in a roundabout way, which resulted in some heated responses on X.
“We’ve defined the objectives of Operation Epic Fury very clearly, which is, of course, to wipe out Iran’s ballistic missile arsenal, which we have been very successful in doing,” said Leavitt.

“We’ve achieved dominance over the skies of Iran to annihilate their navy, which we have done, according to CENTCOM. This morning, I received the updated numbers. More than 120 naval vessels are at the bottom of the sea because of our United States armed forces,” she added.
X user @CalltoActivism called out Leavitt for flubbing her words in a post, which reads: “OMG. Karoline Leavitt says the objectives of ‘Operation Epic Fury’ is to wipe out Iran’s ‘ballistic missile capabilities.’ Ballistic missiles can’t reach America and there was no credible risk to our bases in the region. America First my a–.”

X users turned to the comments section to share their opinions on the matter, and they tend to be negative.
One X user wrote: “It was always about pursuing Israel agenda and staying friends with them.”
A second user shared: “The objective changes based on the day and who you ask or doesn’t exist at all.”
A third user chimed in: “This makes number how many ‘objectives’???”
Leavitt tried to answer a question without answering it
The X user also shared a video of Leavitt speaking, where she goes on to talk about how the attack on Iran benefits the American people and the country’s allies.
“That’s a great thing for the American people, that’s a great thing for allies in the region, and, of course, to ensure that Iran permanently cannot possess a nuclear weapon is something this president has long said for decades, but I’m not going to forecast or remove any options off the table,” she said.
It didn’t work
When asked about whether or not Iran has the ability to make a nuclear weapon, she seemed annoyed.
“Look, again, we’re in a place right now that we’re ensuring that Iran can no longer threaten the United States of America and the United States military is doing a TREMENDOUS job of achieving these objectives.”
