As DOJ Continues to Withhold Epstein Files About Accusations Against Trump, Whitehouse Demands that DOJ Follow the Law and Preserve All Related Documents

MAGA DOJ’s apparent illegal withholding of documents points to a dark cover-up for the President

Washington, D.C. – With the MAGA Department of Justice continuing to withhold documents about a sexual assault allegation against President Donald Trump, U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), a senior member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, sent a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel this week demanding that the Department of Justice preserve records related to its compliance with the bipartisan Epstein Files Transparency Act.

The DOJ has failed to produce all records related to Jeffrey Epstein as the Act requires, including documents regarding sexual assault allegations made against President Trump in 2019 by a woman who alleged that she was trafficked to him by Epstein when she was a young teenager.

On January 30, DOJ claimed that it had released all required documents under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, but the tranche included only one of four FBI interview records, known as 302 forms, associated with the President’s accuser.  The omissions were first discovered by independent journalist Roger Sollenberger.

Facing significant public pressure, DOJ on March 5 published the three missing 302s, which all named President Trump.  However, it appears that 37 pages of records still have not been released, including FBI notes associated with agents’ interviews of the accuser.

“Please preserve any existing and future records, documents, and materials related to DOJ’s compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act with respect to the sexual assault allegations… including any materials related to DOJ’s decision to withhold these records.  As you know, federal law, including the Federal Records Act, imposes an obligation to preserve federal records on all DOJ employees, including FBI employees, and makes violations subject to criminal prosecution,” wrote Whitehouse.

Last week, Senator Whitehouse took to the Senate Floor for a 48-minute speech unraveling the mountain of circumstantial evidence connecting President Trump, Jeffrey Epstein, and Russia.  The speech, which cites many dozens of news articles published over decades and emails released under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, has been viewed a total of more than 2.2 million times on the Senator’s YouTube channel.
