How many more American families have to be wiped off the face of the earth before we get every foreign truck driver off the road?
These foreign drivers have been turned loose on American highways, behind the wheels of massive semis and commercial trucks, and the results are turning out to be catastrophic and deadly. People are dying in some of the most violent, horrifying crashes imaginable. Families are being erased in an instant. And yet this insanity keeps going, as if the people in charge are too afraid, too corrupt, or too indifferent to stop it.
Now, that’s not to say Team Trump isn’t doing its best to get these maniacs off the road, but this problem has gone on for so long and flown under the radar for so long that getting it under control has to happen at the state level too. Yes, California, we’re talking to you.
US Department of Transportation:
U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy today issued a final rule to stop unqualified foreign drivers from obtaining licenses to drive commercial trucks and buses. These unqualified foreign drivers pose a significant safety threat to the driving public.
These reforms will address safety concerns by preventing foreign drivers who have not been subject to consular and interagency screening from receiving a commercial driver’s license (CDL). While U.S. drivers are subject to strict checks through national databases for past violations—such as DUIs, reckless driving, or crash involvement—states lack the ability to access the driving records of foreigners and illegal immigrants. This loophole allowed individuals with dangerous driving histories to obtain a trucking license simply by presenting an Employment Authorization Document (EAD), which does not screen for transportation safety.
“For far too long, America has allowed dangerous foreign drivers to abuse our truck licensing systems – wreaking havoc on our roadways. This safety loophole ends today,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy. “Moving forward, unqualified foreign drivers will be unable to get a license to operate an 80,000-pound big rig. Under President Trump’s leadership, we are putting the safety of the driving public first. From enforcing English language standards to holding fraudulent carriers accountable, we will continue to attack this crisis on our roads head on.”
“A critical safety gap allowed unqualified drivers with unknown driving histories to get behind the wheel of commercial vehicles,” said FMCSA Administrator Derek D. Barrs. “We are closing that gap today to ensure that only qualified, vetted drivers are operating on our nation’s roadways. If we cannot verify your safe driving history, you cannot hold a CDL in this country.”
So, yes, while we appreciate Trump’s team diving in to help, states need to be held accountable for issuing these CDLs. These are devastating, high-impact crashes involving foreigners operating enormous vehicles on roads they clearly don’t understand, in a country with rules, signs, and driving norms that are completely foreign to them.
This latest horror out of Ohio killed an entire young family. Mom. Dad. Their one-year-old son. Just gone. Erased. And once again, Americans are left asking why this keeps happening and why so many people in charge aren’t doing a damn thing about it.

This is the basic story the public is getting so far… an entire family is dead, and multiple people are injured, and the driver at the center of it is a 50-year-old trucker named Modou F. Ngom, who allegedly slammed full-speed-ahead into backed-up traffic at a construction site and triggered a horrific chain-reaction crash involving nine cars.
The New York Post:
An Ohio veterinarian, her husband and their 1-year-old son were killed in a fiery multi-car crash when a driver — who faces up to five years in prison — smashed into a backed-up traffic jam.
Lynnea Soposki, 36, her analytical chemist husband Luke 37, and baby Logan died at the scene, while another three people were injured after tractor-trailer driver Modou F. Ngom allegedly plowed into several cars on Interstate 71 in Ohio just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Footage obtained by NBC4 shows Ngom’s white Freightliner truck hit a red car, which triggered a nine-vehicle crash on Interstate 71 and left cars engulfed in flames.
The Soposkis’ 2016 Chevrolet Silverado was one of the vehicles caught up in the crash.
The crash happened in a construction zone near the Route 37 interchange and the northbound exit was cut to one lane — just four days before the tragedy, the Columbus Dispatch reported.
That is a full-scale highway horror show. And now, another decent family is gone.
But here’s the real kicker. Witnesses say the truck was already moving erratically before the crash, and there are still major unanswered questions about the carrier, the driver, and who exactly allowed this situation to happen in the first place. We’re not even sure of his legal status at this point.
