DHS Identifies Alleged Ringleader of Foiled White House UFC Terror Plot

Tevin McLeod - June 20, 2026

Federal authorities say the alleged ringleader behind a shocking terror plot targeting President Donald Trump’s UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House is an illegal alien from Mexico who was allowed to remain in the United States under policies dating back to the Obama administration.

The suspect, identified by the Department of Homeland Security as Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez, is accused of helping organize what investigators describe as a sophisticated multi-stage attack designed to cause mass casualties during Sunday’s UFC Freedom 250 event on the White House South Lawn.

Thousands attended the historic event, including President Trump, senior administration officials, members of Congress, military personnel, and invited guests.

According to federal officials, the attack could have become one of the most devastating terror incidents ever attempted against the White House had it not been disrupted by law enforcement beforehand.

FBI Director Kash Patel announced Tuesday that a coordinated multi-state operation successfully dismantled the alleged plot before it could be carried out.

“Thanks to the rapid action of this FBI, our partners, and the Department of Justice in a multi-state operation, multiple individuals are now in custody and allegedly planned attacks were stopped cold,” Patel said.

Authorities have reportedly taken five suspects into custody while identifying as many as 23 individuals connected to what investigators describe as a broader network.

According to details reported by Fox News and confirmed by administration officials, the plan involved several coordinated phases.

Investigators allege that plotters intended to use explosive drones to strike buildings near the White House during the UFC event, creating panic and triggering a mass evacuation of attendees.

The resulting chaos would then allegedly be used to funnel crowds toward predetermined locations where sniper teams had been positioned.

Officials say a second wave of attackers planned to exploit the confusion by attempting to breach White House security barriers and storm the grounds.

The complexity of the alleged operation has stunned law enforcement officials.

DHS officials were particularly blunt regarding the immigration status of the alleged ringleader.

“This illegal alien from Mexico should never have been allowed in our country,” a DHS official said.

“He was the ringleader of a failed terror attack targeting UFC Freedom 250 at the White House.”

The department further stated that Alvarez and his alleged co-conspirators now face charges including conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit violence on White House grounds.

“He will face justice and swiftly be removed from our country,” the official added.

The revelation is already fueling renewed debate over immigration enforcement and vetting procedures.

Critics of previous immigration policies argue the case highlights long-standing concerns about individuals who entered or remained in the country despite lacking lawful permanent status.

The case is particularly explosive because the alleged target was not simply a public event but a gathering attended by the President of the United States inside one of the most heavily secured areas in the world.

Trump attended the UFC Freedom 250 event Sunday as part of celebrations surrounding America’s upcoming 250th anniversary and his 80th birthday.

The event transformed the White House South Lawn into a temporary UFC arena and drew national attention throughout the weekend.

Federal officials have not yet released all details regarding how the alleged plot was uncovered, citing ongoing investigations.

Authorities also have not publicly disclosed whether any foreign connections have been identified.

However, officials emphasized that the threat was taken seriously due to both the scale of the alleged operation and the high-profile nature of the targets involved.

The case arrives amid continuing concerns over domestic security and follows multiple assassination attempts and threats directed at President Trump in recent years.

As investigators continue examining the broader network allegedly involved, lawmakers are expected to demand additional information regarding how the suspects entered the country, what immigration status they possessed, and whether warning signs were missed, said the report.
