The FBI has arrested an Ohio man accused of sending a graphic death threat targeting a Republican member of Congress, his family, and President Donald Trump.
Federal prosecutors say the message went far beyond political criticism and included explicit threats of murder, beheading, and setting the congressman’s home on fire.

Alex Justin Miller, 26, is accused of sending the threatening message to Rep. Randy Fine, R-Fla., a Jewish Republican congressman, according to the Department of Justice.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida charged Miller with interstate transmission of a threat to injure.
If convicted, he could face up to five years in federal prison.

According to a copy of the message obtained by Fox News Digital, Miller allegedly directed antisemitic and profane language at Fine and his family while threatening to travel to the congressman’s home.
The sender allegedly threatened to set Fine’s house on fire and murder the congressman and his family while they slept.
The message also contained a graphic threat to behead Fine and display his body before concluding, “DEATH TO RANDY FINE AND DEATH TO DONALD TRUMP!!”

Fine told Fox News Digital there was no ambiguity about how he interpreted the message.
“It was so graphic. It says, ‘I’m gonna murder you. I’m going to cut your head off. I won’t stop,’” Fine said.
“I reported it immediately. I unfortunately have learned what the difference is between a nasty message and a death threat, and this clearly was a death threat.”
Fine said the email arrived on the morning of Florida’s primary Election Day.

According to the congressman, the suspect was not one of his Florida constituents, and he believes the incident demonstrates the need for greater security for federal lawmakers.
“I don’t know what this person’s motives were for writing this, but it’s someone not from Florida,” Fine said.
“I do think members of Congress need more security than we oftentimes get.”
The FBI and Brevard County Sheriff’s Office investigated the alleged threat, with assistance from the U.S. Secret Service and U.S. Capitol Police, according to the Justice Department.
Fine said authorities located and arrested the suspect within approximately 36 hours of the threat being reported.

The congressman praised the agencies involved for responding quickly and taking the message seriously.
“I’m incredibly grateful to the U.S. attorney, the FBI, the Capitol Police, and all the law enforcement in Florida who took this seriously,” Fine said.
He also urged people across the political spectrum to recognize the line between harsh criticism and threatening violence against elected officials.
“The bottom line is, don’t do this. Don’t write messages like this to elected officials, Republican or Democrat,” Fine said.

“You want to call us bad people? Be my guest, but do not do this sort of thing,” Fox News reported.
Miller now faces a federal criminal case over the alleged threat and, if convicted, a potential five-year prison sentence.

The latest episode follows previous Iran-linked content targeting first lady Melania Trump and President Trump himself, escalating concerns that threats and intimidation connected to the conflict are becoming increasingly personal.
The reported targeting of the president’s son represents another troubling development as hostility between the United States and Iran continues to intensify.
Earlier this summer, a disturbing propaganda video emerged from Tehran encouraging the assassination of First Lady Melania Trump while also issuing a direct threat against the president’s youngest son.
