DEMS OPPOSE SAVE AMERICA AND UNDERMINE VOTER RIGHTS

The SAVE America act has been top of mind for most Republicans in our congress.  Trump and his cabinet have been pushing it fiercely, saying it is the only way to save our election infrastructure.  However, the democrats have been opposing this “SAVE America act” drastically, voicing their concern that it undermines the voting rights of those in lower or vulnerable classes.  Let’s take a look at what the SAVE act actually is, and why it must be passed to save the country.

As many people know, the main function of the SAVE America act is the requirement of voter ID.  That means, before you can go to the polls and vote, you must show a form of valid government ID prior to voting.  This is so our elections can be verified in an efficient way, and structured so those who are not American citizens cannot vote. Here is the language straight from the bill itself:

• This bill requires individuals to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote, and requires photo identification to vote in federal elections. 

• Further, the bill (1) prohibits states from registering an individual to vote in a federal election unless, at the time the individual applies to register to vote, the individual provides documentary proof of U.S. citizenship; and (2) requires states to establish an alternative process to demonstrate U.S. citizenship. 

• Additionally, states must remove noncitizens from their official lists of eligible voters. 

Seems like common sense, right?  How can we ensure that our elections are secure if we don’t have a way to verify who is voting?  It’s almost as if, someone who would oppose this would be attempting to cheat an election.  Why else would you want the identity of those voting to be anonymous?  You could have non-citizens vote.  You could have people vote multiple times.  You could have deceased individuals voting.  

It turns out, to nobody’s surprise, that democrats are the number one voice against the SAVE America act.  In addition, democrat run states are those who funnel the most amount of illegal immigrants into their cities.  I wonder how many illegals have voted in blue states.  It seems like the only rational thought process in terms of democrats opposing this bill, is that they simply want to continue cheating.

Let’s take a look at what democrats are saying in opposition to this bill.  Here is what Democratic Sen. Murkowski from Alaska has to say regarding the SAVE act, according to “Factually”:

“Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska has explicitly said she would not back the measure if it came to a Senate vote, citing concerns about making major election changes too close to the 2026 midterms.”  

Interesting.  So, this democrat senator is opposed simply because of “election changes close to the 2026 midterms”.  However, the obvious rebuttal against this senator would be, “If the changes make our elections more secure, why would you oppose that change?  Isn’t that a more pure, democratic, outcome?”  Again, the only explanation these democrats have to this opposition is simply that they don’t want to stop cheating. Here is another quote from “Factually” speaking to why democrats oppose the bill.

“Democratic leaders and voting-rights organizations have uniformly denounced the bill as likely to suppress eligible voters … Reporting also notes that the bill’s requirements — proof of citizenship to register and photo ID at the ballot box — are characterized by supporters as enforcing existing law but by opponents as measures that will make voting harder for many Americans”

How does that make any sense?  The barrier for entry is on the bottom floor for obtaining a physical form of photo ID in America.  For those who do not have a driver’s license, a passport could work instead.  For those who do not have a passport, a non-driver photo ID can be obtained via the BMV.  For those who cannot get transportation to the BMV, and may be low on money or homeless, there are a myriad of outreach centers across America to help.  Many of these outreach entities are state run, or private. All will aid with getting someone down on their luck some form of ID.  Many of these programs will not even charge someone the low cost it takes to obtain an ID.

Democrats must think the voting population of low income America is beyond stupid.  The amount of resources available to the general public for obtaining some form of photo ID is astronomical.  In fact, the idea that low income Americans cannot figure out how to get an ID is an insult to the democrat voting base.  They are essentially calling their own voters dumb.  This is an obvious positive change for America. The SAVE America act must be passed to ensure we no longer have fraud in our elections.  Make sure to contact your local representatives and voice your support for the SAVE America Act.
