HENRY NOWAK STABBING LEGAL BREAKDOWN

Uproar has filled the streets in England over the last few days due to an 18 year old boy that was stabbed to death by a migrant.  Henry Nowak, a student, was aimlessly attacked by a local Sikh immigrant from South Hampton.  The Sikh, Vickrum Digwa, used a ceremonial dagger carried by Sikh religious followers to stab Henry.  This is already horrific, however, the uproar grew as the body camera from the responding police officers was released.

It showed the victim, Henry, pleading with officers for his life as he bled out in the street.  The officers ignored him, handcuffing him as the suspect in a racist ‘verbal assault’.  Henry died from his wounds while handcuffed in police custody; his killer standing next to him and claiming racism.  Let’s break down the controversy, and how the UK legal system is tilted away from their own local population.

This story originally occurred in 2025.  Henry was stabbed on December 3rd of that year, which caused some controversy at the time.  However, the main source of the uproar was the body camera release.  Henry was walking home after dark in South Hampton.  He encountered his killer, Digwa, on the street.  A small verbal altercation ensued, the cause of which is not officially known.  As the non violent altercation ended, Digwa, without prompting, drew his ceremonial dagger.  Henry was stabbed 5 times total; including his face, chest, and legs.  The dagger that was used is called a Kirpan.  The following image is the actual dagger used to kill Henry:

As Henry bled from his wounds he ran from the scene.  Reports say that Digwa, probably realizing he needed a cover story, called the police.  He told the police that Henry had engaged in a racist verbal attack on him.  Police arrived on scene, locating Henry and Digwa.  The police immediately began to handcuff Henry, despite him laying on the ground and exclaiming that he had been stabbed.

In the body camera footage, you can clearly hear Henry pleading with officers.  He was saying, “I’ve been stabbed!” and “I can’t breathe!”.   The latter statement was due to the knife puncturing one of Henry’s lungs. In reply to Henry’s cries for help, the police simply handcuffed him and told him that he was not stabbed.  Digwa was standing nearby with the police, stating that Henry was not stabbed, and that he was a racist.  Henry died on the ground, drowning in his own blood.

Apart from the obvious injustice that occurred to Henry, two things should be examined legally as a result of this incident.  One, knife laws in the UK and who can carry them in public.  Two, ‘anti-racism’ policing, and arrest ‘equity’.  Let’s first examine the knife laws in the UK.  Two laws govern most knife laws in the UK: the criminal justice act of 1988, and offensive weapons act of 2019.  What do these laws say?  Essentially, in the UK, you are not allowed to carry a fixed blade knife in public.  You are allowed to carry a folding knife, as long as the blade is under 3 inches.  Now, you may be thinking, the fixed blade dagger that Digwa used to kill Henry with was obviously illegal under these laws, right? No.

An exception to these laws is for a religious exemption.  Digwa, as well as other Sikhs in the UK, are allowed to carry their Kirpan due to religious reasons. In the Sikh religion, the Kirpan is similar to Catholics carrying a rosary or a bible.  They view it as a religious item and not a weapon. They say it stands for peace and ‘defending the helpless’.  Tell that to Henry, who is now dead due to this ‘purely religious item’.

Now, we have a dangerous dichotomy when it comes to these knife laws.  On the one hand, you have an immigrant religious population that is allowed to carry a large, deadly, seemingly illegal dagger wherever they please.  On the other hand, you have the regular population of white England.  They are disarmed and not allowed to carry any form of dagger similar to this.  How is that an equal system of legislation? On another note, obviously as an American, I do not necessarily wish to enforce any form of “knife control” like they have in England.  I would prefer that they have a 2nd amendment as well.  But, if they are going to have “knife control laws”, how is it consistent for them to enforce knife laws for the native population of their country, but not for the immigrant religious group?  It makes no sense.

The second issue we must highlight is the policy of the local police in the UK in terms of their “racial equity in policing”.  Recently, the “national police chiefs council” (NPCC) in the UK released a public “anti-racism” commitment.  What does this say?  It begins in a non-problematic way, stating that they acknowledge that the police in the UK have been racist in the past.  They vow to change that.  However, when they begin to describe the steps they will take to make that change, it begins to paint a grim image.  They call for “equity” in policing, and “equity” in arrests.  That is a strong word to use instead of equality.

The word “equity” would assume that you are going to attempt more arrests based on race to even out the numbers.  This may not be directly targeting demographics that are not as ‘arrested’ as others.  However, it could mean that they are directing their officers to take the side of minorities over the majority white population of the UK.  All of this as an attempt to even out the numbers in the name of racial “equity”.

The link to our stabbing story here is obvious.  Is this the case that, under the new anti-racism / equity in arrests policy, the word of Henry Nowak was disregarded?  It would seem that was the case.  This directive essentially orders the local police to do exactly what was shown on body worn camera.  They are to exercise equity and discriminate against the majority population in the name of anti-racism.  Of course, by doing so, they are actually being more racist by policing based on someone’s ethnicity as opposed to the objective letter of the law.

To sum this all up, what do we have in the UK?  A sad state of affairs.  You have immigrant populations that are the only ones able to ‘bear arms’.  Then, when someone falls victim and dies due to this fact, the local police will take the word of the minority population in the name of “ending racism”.  What else could this be other than an attack on the people of England.  Protests have erupted across the UK, led by Tommy Robinson and other political activists.  Maybe the UK can elect someone like the promising candidate Rupert Low and make a change.
