LEFTIST ASSASINATION CULTURE

In light of the most recent attempted Trump assasination attempt, a pattern is beginning to appear on the leftist spectrum of politics. It would seem that the modern left is turning from the core tenets of love and acceptance, to violent extremism and assasination obsession. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see this turn. It has been happening since the early 2010’s with the rise of antifa terror groups. However, now, it has become a new beast entirely. We do not only see violent riots in the streets from leftists, but lusting over the idea of killing their fellow Americans on the right wing. It’s not just a small group of fringe activists either. You can plainly see heavyweight left leaning commentators spewing affirmation of political violence. It’s rising, and it’s here now. Let’s break down the evidence.

To start, let’s aim roughly when these violent incidents started to occur. The first instance of modern leftist violence that many can point to in headlines was the famed “battle of Berkeley” on University of Berkeley campus in 2017. A professor of philosophy at Berkeley campus, Eric Claton, took a large metal bike lock and assaulted several individuals during a “free speech event”. All he assaulted were right leaning individuals there for the event. The assault was caught on camera, and luckily he was prosecuted for 4 counts of felony assault. The professor was a part of the terrorist group antifa. This inspired many other leftists to “punch a nazi”.

Antifa violence only grew from there, with many other violent incidents occurring in the following years. This was the start of the leftist rhetoric surrounding ‘nazis’ on the right; and that we should attack them for their beliefs. This became a mainstream line of thought, with many prominent leftist politicians and commentators beginning to attribute the term nazi to republicans.

The evolution of this thought was of course the black lives matter (BLM) riots in 2020. After the death of George Floyd, leftists across the country rioted in American cities. The damages were staggering. In one week, BLM leftists caused approximately 500 million in property damage in Minneapolis alone. According to FBI statistics, after the death of George Floyd, Minniapolis saw a dramatic rise in homicides: approximately 14,000 in 2020. While not all are directly related to the riots, the rise in violent crime is a direct result from the lack of policing caused by BLM.

All of this background is to show the rise of leftist violence that led to the assasination culture. Violence was normalized during the years leading up to the last election cycle. It all accumulated into the incident in Butler, PA with Trump’s first assasination attempt. Thomas Crooks, a deranged young man who donated money to democrat causes, shot at president Trump during his rally. He missed Trump, but unfortunately struck and killed a local firefighter in the crowd. What was the response from the left? A deluge of comments and Tiktoks celebrating the attempt and asking why he had to miss the shot. Social media was buzzing with leftists cheering him on and wishing death upon the president.

Trump went on to have more attempts on his life, all from deranged leftists. Social media’s response was always the same; leftists celebrating the attempts, but cursing the fact that the shooters failed in their mission. Even with the most recent attempt last week, leftists were seen on social media saying, “someone has to do it”, or, “we need someone who won’t miss next time”. The left cheers for blood. What a stark difference between the right wing and the left. Republicans are never seen cheering for blood or wishing death upon the left.

The best example of this assasination culture is of course Charlie Kirk. Kirk was killed during one of his famous university talks where he would engage in discourse with anyone who wanted to step up to the mic. When he was shot and killed, the leftists were seen immediately cheering for the shooter. It was truly one of the most disgusting things I have seen on social media. Even people who I considered normal democrats were justifying the assasination on Kirk due to him being a “nazi”. This is where the true danger comes in. Right wing activists and commentators have been talking about the danger in this rhetoric for years. We have always called to turn down the temperature on political violence.

A study out of Rutgers University shows the true nature of the modern violent left. This study showed that a majority of leftists approve of political violence. 68% of self-identified leftists stated they would agree with the murder of Donald Trump or Elon Musk.

This says it all. It is popular and normalized to believe in political violence on the left. It’s sad really. We should all be able to cooperate as fellow Americans and work together for the betterment of the country; no matter the political divide.

Not only that, but the mainstream left wing political commentators such as “Destiny” and “Hasan Piker” have no qualms with stoking the flame. When asked if Destiny could disavow the political violence from the modern left wing after Trump’s first assasination attempt, he refused to do so. Destiny even went on to say that he would not feel bad if his own ‘Trump supporting parents’ were killed at the rally in Butler, PA. He said that they would be asking for it by attending a ‘nazi rally’.

Hasan Piker, a massively popular leftist commentator, has said even more grotesque things about being violent to republicans. Hasan was quoted saying that, “America deserved 911”, and that we should, “Let the streets run red with their capitalist blood” when talking about the right wing in America. The left has a problem. If it continues, who knows how much violence will happen in the coming years. All we can do is pray for them, and ask that leftist violence is dealt with appropriately and swiftly in a court of law. Watch your backs, stay safe, and continue to protect yourselves. We cannot let our views be silenced due to threats of violence. That is exactly what the left wants to happen.
