SPLC CONFIRMED MANUFACTURING RIGHT WING VIOLENCE

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has been one of America’s leading organizations that ‘fight’ right wing extremism. They have been popular in recent years due to President Trump’s uprising in American politics. The SPLC has tried to tie a link to Trump’s political rise, and the rise of right wing violence. However, new federal indictments have shown that the SPLC has not been combating right wing groups, but supporting them.

According to the Office of Public Affairs for the Department of Justice, the SPLC has been indicted by a grand jury in Montgomery, Alabama for “11 counts of wire fraud, false statements to a federally insured bank, and conspiracy to commit concealment money laundering”. While this on its own is disturbing coming from a group that is supposed to ‘fight for justice’, the more interesting part is who this money was going to. The SPLC takes massive amounts of donation money. According to their own website, they received approximately $731.9 million in their last fiscal year. Approximately $100 million of this was from donations. They report that this money is spent on fighting the far right, but according to this indictment, they have been funneling millions to far right groups.

This is a running list of groups the SPLC has been found to be donating money to:

  • Ku Klux Klan
  • United Klans of America
  • Unite the Right
  • National Alliance
  • National Socialist Movement
  • Aryan Nations affiliated Sadistic Souls Motorcycle Club
  • National Socialist Party of America (American Nazi Party)
  • American Front

How can you say that you are fighting the ‘far right’, while simultaneously funding the ‘far right’? They are obviously an organization of grifters. This was not a brand new revelation. Right wing influencers have been saying that we should not trust the SPLC for years. The most prominent of those being Charlie Kirk. According to a recent congressional hearing regarding Kirk’s assasination, a spokesperson for TPUSA expressed Kirk’s thoughts on the SPLC. Kirk said that the SPLC is not to be trusted, and lumped TPUSA in with groups like the Neo Nazi movement of America. He said that this would inevitably put TPUSA, the attendees of Kirk’s events, and Kirk himself in danger. We all know what happened as a result of that; Charlie was right.

Another interesting part of this indictment is the fact that money was sent to the “unite the right” group back in 2017. For all who remember, the unite the right rally occurred in Chartlettsville, Virginia in 2017. It became famous as a large ‘neo nazi’ and ‘white supremist’ gathering. President Trump famously made his drastically mischaracterized statement that there were “very fine people on both sides” in regards to this march. A woman was killed during this march, hit by a car driven by a member of ‘unite the right’.

The SPLC was extremely vocal about this march, condemning it and condemning Trump as far right extremists that caused the death of this woman. The ironic part now is, the SPLC is directly responsible for funding ‘unite the right’ during that march. They donated approximately $270,000 for ‘unite the right’. What a bunch of hypocrites. The right wing of America is largely nonviolent in comparison to the terroristic normalcy on the left wing. The SPLC had to manufacture hate to justify their own existence and continue to receive money. With this only being a grand jury indictment so far, we will be watching the situation carefully as it goes to trial in the future.
