Conservative commentator Benny Johnson is asking an important question: Where is Ilhan Omar?
During an interview on Newsmax, Johnson discussed the raid on Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar’s DC home by DHS on Monday.
Johnson began by thanking the Trump administration Wednesday for investigating Omar over allegations of immigration fraud, arguing that he believes Omar is in “deep, deep trouble” and could face denaturalization and deportation.
“I just have one thing to say to the Trump administration. Thank you. Thank you for taking out the trash,” Johnson, host of “The Benny Johnson Show,” told “Finnerty.”
Johnson cited a Wall Street Journal report Wednesday that the administration is seeking to build a case to revoke Omar’s citizenship and ultimately deport her.

“They’ve been meticulous in these proceedings,” Johnson said.
“I’ve spoken with three former DHS secretaries today. Actually, these are very scary times for Ilhan Omar. She is in deep, deep trouble,” Johnson added.
Federal agents searched Omar’s Washington home Monday, seizing her cellphone, notebooks, personal computers, and passport, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The Associated Press independently reported the phone seizure and that authorities issued more than a dozen grand jury subpoenas, including to some of Omar’s relatives.
The Journal reported that investigators are examining whether Omar or her late father misrepresented her age on citizenship paperwork, potentially allowing her to obtain citizenship automatically through her father’s naturalization.
Omar, who arrived in the United States from Somalia in 1995, became a citizen in 2000. According to the Journal, federal authorities examined similar allegations during the Biden administration but did not pursue them because of insufficient evidence.
Johnson cited 8 U.S.C. § 1453 in discussing the government’s authority to cancel citizenship documents obtained through fraud.
“Ilhan Omar is actually hanging in peril right now, as the full weight of DHS has fallen upon her,” he said. “And I’m just thankful that the administration has finally actioned this.”
Revoking naturalization, however, generally requires federal court proceedings under a separate statute.

Johnson also questioned Omar’s whereabouts, suggesting she had disappeared from public view amid the investigation.
“Nobody has seen Ilhan Omar for weeks. Nobody knows where she is,” Johnson said. “She hasn’t made any statements.
“She’s ubiquitous on cable TV. She’ll talk to reporters. She loves being on camera. Then suddenly, nothing.”

Omar, however, responded to Monday’s search in a statement on X, accusing the administration of attempting to “target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement.”
“For 10 years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns,” she wrote. “This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation.”
Her office also told the Journal on Wednesday that the investigation had “no basis.”
Omar’s finances are facing separate scrutiny. Jeanine Pirro, U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, confirmed Tuesday that her office is investigating issues involving the congresswoman’s financial disclosures.

CBS News reported that Omar attributed discrepancies involving the reported value of her husband’s businesses to an accounting error and subsequently filed an amended disclosure.
Johnson also raised long-standing allegations concerning Omar’s immigration history and family relationships, questioning whether she legally obtained citizenship.
“I do wonder, in fact, if this is going to lead to the largest immigration scam in American history,” he said.
Omar has repeatedly denied committing immigration fraud.
Johnson argued that the allegations, if substantiated, would raise questions about Omar’s role in shaping immigration policy.
“You have somebody who’s a literal fraudster, an immigration fraudster, voting on those issues,” he said. “Rob, it is egregious.”
