Candace Owens has come under fire from her own followers after bashing White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, Wonderwall.com can report.
The conservative podcaster took some heat after sharing an unflattering photo of President Donald Trump‘s spokeswoman as she called out a past comment Leavitt made about the war in Iran.
The extreme close-up of Leavitt’s face heavily caked in makeup was overlaid with part of a message Leavitt recently posted on X that read, “TO BE CLEAR: No such threat from Iran to our homeland exists, and it never did.”
At first, that seemed to counter a more recent X post from Leavitt in which the press secretary insisted, “As President Trump has clearly and explicitly stated, he had strong and compelling evidence that Iran was going to attack the United States first.”
Owens appeared to be trying to make it look like Leavitt was contradicting herself, even captioning her post, “Unserious administration.”
Leavitt’s message

But many critics accused Owens of taking Leavitt’s earlier post out of context.
Leavitt’s original message was in response to a story about an alleged Iranian drone threat to the West Coast published by ABC News, not a nationwide terror threat from Iran justifying U.S. strikes.
“This post and story should be immediately retracted by ABC News for providing false information to intentionally alarm the American people,” Leavitt shared. “They wrote this based on one email that was sent to local law enforcement in California about a single, unverified tip.
“The email even states the tip was based on *unverified* intelligence. Yet ABC News left out this critical fact in their story! WHY?”
That’s when she added, “TO BE CLEAR: No such threat from Iran to our homeland exists, and it never did” — the single line Owens honed in on.
Critics cry foul

In comments reacting to Owens’ post, one social media user demanded, “Show the whole thing — it actually destroys your entire narrative.”
Another begged the controversial podcaster, “How about you stop posting things out of context for once?”
Yet another snapped, “This is why I will always detest you, Candace.”
“Context” seemed to be a key word for many, with another commenter adding, “You couldn’t show the whole context of that statement, so you are a fraud. I get it.”
Another claimed, “How did I know that you would have edited out the rest of the context from this? Oh, right, because that’s what you always do.”
Still another X user took umbrage with Owens’ critique of Leavitt’s looks, writing, “I know d*** well you of all people are not trying to compare looks to Karoline Leavitt … And you posted an edited post you purposely clipped out 99% of the original post so you could somehow ‘own’ the Trump admin? And people actually see this and still take you seriously?”
Owens’ other battles

Owens has famously targeted other high-profile figures, including her late friend Charlie Kirk‘s widow, Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk, and France’s first lady, Brigitte Macron.
The far-right influencer pushed a conspiracy theory claiming French President Emmanuel Macron‘s wife was born male.
In response, the Macrons filed a defamation lawsuit against Owens, citing her “verifiably false and devastating lies.”
During an appearance on fellow far-right pundit Tucker Carlson‘s eponymous podcast, Owens claimed Trump called her and asked her to cool it with the accusations, telling her Brigitte is “old and this is really, really impacting her,” adding that he “saw her up close and she looks like a woman to me.”
Owens, however, refused, allegedly telling Trump, “Respectfully, Mr. President, it’s not my fault that he married somebody with a [expletive].”
