Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has been hospitalized and is currently in critical but stable condition, according to a statement posted on Sunday on X. Ted Goodman, a political strategist who launched a livestream program with Giuliani, shared news of the hospitalization on Sunday evening.
“Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition,” Goodman wrote. “Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting with that same level of strength as we speak.” He added: “We do ask that you join us in prayer for America’s Mayor Rudy Giuliani.”
Upon hearing about Giuliani’s condition, President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social account to praise him as the “best mayor” in New York City’s history.

“Our fabulous Rudy Giuliani, a True Warrior, and the Best Mayor in the History of New York City, BY FAR, has been hospitalized, and is in critical condition. What a tragedy that he was treated so badly by the Radical Left Lunatics, Democrats ALL — AND HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “They cheated on the Elections, fabricated hundreds of stories, did anything possible to destroy our Nation, and now, look at Rudy. So sad!”
Todd Shapiro, a spokesman for former NYC Mayor Eric Adams, also paid tribute to Giuliani, noting that while the two didn’t always agree on policies, this moment “rises above politics.”

“On behalf of Eric Adams, we are wishing strength, good health, and a full recovery to Rudy Giuliani—a man who devoted his life to public service,” Shapiro said. “From his years as a federal prosecutor to leading New York City through its darkest day on 9/11, he stood with this city when it needed him most.

“Public service at that level demands sacrifice, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to the people you serve,” he continued. “Whatever differences may exist, those contributions deserve respect. We are keeping him and his family in our thoughts.”
The hospitalization comes nearly eight months after Rudy Giuliani was seriously injured in a car crash in New Hampshire.
According to Fox News Digital, Giuliani had been flagged down by a woman fleeing a domestic violence incident. He assisted the woman and called 911, remaining at the scene until police arrived.
After leaving, Giuliani was traveling on the highway when the vehicle he was in was struck from behind at high speed. New Hampshire State Police said the crash occurred just before 10 p.m. on Interstate 93 in Manchester.
Troopers and fire personnel were already on the southbound side responding to the domestic violence call when they witnessed a separate two-vehicle collision on the northbound side. Both vehicles came to rest in the median and sustained heavy damage, according to police.
Giuliani’s head of security and spokesman, Michael Ragusa, told Fox News back then that the former mayor and Trump lawyer was in “good spirits and recovering tremendously.”
Giuliani suffered “a fractured thoracic vertebrae,” as well as several lacerations and contusions and injuries to his left arm and lower leg, according to Ragusa.
“This was not a targeted attack,” Ragusa added in a post on X. “We ask everyone to respect Mayor Giuliani’s privacy and recovery, and refrain from spreading unfounded conspiracy theories.”
Police identified the driver who struck Giuliani. Lauren Kemp, 19, of Concord, was driving a Honda HR-V on I-93 south in Manchester when she rear-ended a rented Ford Bronco driven by Giuliani spokesman Ted Goodman, New Hampshire State Police said.
Giuliani’s son Andrew also took to social media to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers following the accident.
“Thank you to all the people that have reached out since learning the news about my Father. Your prayers mean the world,” the younger Giuliani, who heads up the Trump White House’s FIFA World Cup 2026 Task Force. “As a son, I can tell you I’m honored to have a Dad that I can call the toughest SOB I’ve ever seen!”
