WASHINGTON (TNND) — House Oversight Democrats on Wednesday released new emails between disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell where Epstein calls President Donald Trump “the dog that hasn’t barked.”
“I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is trump.. [Victim] spent hours at my house with him ,, he has never once been mentioned. Police chief. etc. im 75 % there,” the email dated April 2, 2011 reads.
Maxwell responded by saying, “I have been thinking about that”
The Trump administration has faced backlash for how it has handled the release of the files related to Epstein, specifically Attorney General Pam Bondi.
Congressman Thomas Massie, R-Ky., has been attempting to pass a discharge petition to release all the Epstein files. It needs 218 signatures and so far it has 217.
“The 218th and final signature for the Epstein discharge petition will happen tomorrow,” Massie wrote on X Tuesday.
House Oversight Democrats called on the files to be released.
“BREAKING: Oversight Dems have received new emails from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate that raise serious questions about Donald Trump and his knowledge of Epstein’s horrific crimes,” their post on X reads. “Read them for yourself. It’s time to end this cover-up and RELEASE THE FILES.”
Epstein died in prison in August 2019 as he was waiting for a trial on sex trafficking charges of minors and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking.
