Karoline Leavitt quickly stepped in after Trump misunderstood a reporter this afternoon, but the real question left Trump shaking his head and walking away
Karoline Leavitt stepped in after Trump was faced with an awkward question by a reporter.
The Press Secretary has become widely regarded as Trump’s right-hand woman, as she frequently swoops in to clean up messes and set the record straight after some of the president’s more controversial comments. Outside the White House on Wednesday, Leavitt stood by while Trump answered questions from the press. One question left him looking lost, as he tried to understand what the reporter with a thick accent was saying.
“In Iraq’s parliament they shouted ‘death to America, death to Israel.’ What’s your message to them?” the reporter said, but Trump stared back blankly, prompting him to repeat the question, and again, looking lost. It comes as the daughter of Trump’s doctor made a bombshell claim about his health.

The president turned to Leavitt who was standing just a few feet away. The 29-year-old smirked as she repeated, “Death to America, death to Israel, what’s your response?”
“That’s not a nice question,” Trump said, before walking off and making his way toward his waiting helicopter, which was set to take him to Ohio this afternoon for a visit to Thermo Fisher Scientific, a pharmaceutical company.
Eagle-eyed viewers pointed out that Trump looked particularly disheveled today, noting a new bruise that appears to have taken shape just above his left eyebrow.
One user pointed out the new blemish on X, with a close-up image, writing, “What’s going on in Trump’s left (our right) eyebrow? Is that a new bruise?!”
For months, Trump has displayed mysterious bruises and blemishes, particularly on his hand, prompting questions about his health. The White House has repeatedly shut down rumors that the 79-year-old is suffering from any form of condition, including cognitive ones.
During the visit to the pharmaceutical factory in Ohio, Trump rambled on about his administration’s achievements and then attempted to walk off before being called back by a company representative.

Other users were harsher in their judgement of the awkward blunder, insisting that Trump is actually in the early stages of dementia, and experiencing serious mental decline.
After the awkward moment with the reporter this afternoon, users also speculated that Trump was simply dodging the question about the comments made in the Iraq parliament.
“Trump understood him the first time,” one user wrote, while another added, “It’s not their job to ask ‘nice’ questions. It’s their job to ask tough, uncomfortable, painful, possibly even embarrassing questions.”
