Karoline Leavitt has shared some pictures of her home life on Instagram as she posted a snap of her baby son Niko and husband Nicholas Riccio, but the picture appeared cut off
Karoline Leavitt has hidden her husband from recent social media photos after facing “photoshop fail” accusations last month.
The White House Press Secretary, 28, shared sweet snaps from her Sunday, including moments with her 16-month-old son Niko and baking cinnamon rolls. In one post, she wrote, “Coffee + play time in bed,” showing the back of her toddler and her husband, Nicholas Riccio, 60, sat in bed with his head cropped out of the frame.
Other Instagram photos included Karoline reading the Bible and putting up a Christmas tree, captioned, “And the Christmas tree went up this year…we were feeling it. Tis the season.” The post comes after backlash over accusations that she had “airbrushed” images of Nicholas.

Last month, Karoline caused a stir with Halloween photos showing herself with her husband, who is 32 years her senior, and their son outside the pumpkin-decorated White House. The family also posed on the steps of Vice President JD Vance’s residence at the Naval Observatory in northwest Washington, D.C.
Fans quickly commented on the appearance of Nicholas, with one writing, “The airbrushing of your hubs face to make him appear younger was the trick.”
Another added, “Karoline, Awesome picture but my friends noticed something: The guy on the left seems to have only his face photoshopped. His hands look like 60+ years old. What happened?”
Others questioned the age difference, asking,”Why does her husband look 50 but she only 28 yrs old?” One user commented, “Man that smoothing filter on her old man’s forehead working overtime.”
The thread continued with trolls accusing her of editing, including, “Lol you photoshopped your old geezer husband,” echoed by another who said, “You can’t hide your grandhusband’s old age with Photoshop girl!”
Leavitt has previously spoken openly about her “unconventional marriage.” She recalled meeting her husband, real estate developer Nicholas, during her 2022 congressional campaign in New Hampshire. While she won the Republican primary, she ultimately lost the general election to Democratic incumbent Chris Pappas.
“A mutual friend of ours hosted an event at a restaurant that he owns up in New Hampshire and invited my husband,” she told Megyn Kelly. “I was speaking. We met, and we were acquainted as friends. And then we fell in love.” When asked if she initially had reservations about dating a man more than three decades her senior, Leavitt admitted, “Yes, of course!”
“I mean, it’s [a] very atypical love story, but he’s incredible,” she added, going on to praise her husband. “He is my greatest supporter, he’s my best friend, and he’s my rock. He’s built a very successful business himself, so now he’s fully supportive of me building my success in my career.”
