In this special midterm election broadcast, John Michael Chambers is joined by Dr. Jan Halper-Hayes, who served on the transition team for the first Trump administration and now contributes to a task force with the U.S. Department of Defense. She is widely interviewed across independent media internationally and was preparing to appear on Sky News at 4:30 in the morning from the DC studio on election night.
Dr. Halper-Hayes explains why she is confident in a red wave, from the Supreme Court’s April 29 ruling on racial bias that added GOP seats in Texas, Ohio, North Carolina, and Arizona, to the separate gerrymandering effort begun in 2025, the DHS use of the Social Security database, the drying up of USAID money that weakened the NGOs, and the DNC’s 16.8 million dollar debt against the RNC’s 168 million. She notes that early GOP voting has already exceeded 50 million votes, when Republicans historically waited until Election Day.
The conversation then turns to the mechanics of the midterms: the Hegseth-Kaine document barring military and National Guard from polling places, the possibility of personnel seconded to DHS, and why she considers a pre-election pause or a red wave pause unlikely. She argues that Trump will not hand Democrats a microphone to accuse him of rigging the election, and that any disputes will be litigated state by state rather than halting the whole result. She closes on the administration’s accomplishments, the sovereign wealth fund, the 119th Congress as the second least productive in history, and her conviction that Trump remains strategic and transformative.
