Apparently, it’s harder to get unlimited fettuccine Alfredo in America than it is to help choose the president.
Olive Garden’s “Never-Ending Pasta Pass” requires a valid photo ID. No exceptions, and no finger-wagging lectures about oppression or racism. It’s not an attack on precious democracy when you need to show ID to scarf down a plate of pasta.
Meanwhile, 14 states and Washington, DC, somehow manage to hold elections without requiring the same basic security demanded by a chain restaurant handing out discounted carbs.
And the timing of this revelation couldn’t be better. President Trump just addressed the nation about serious vulnerabilities inside America’s election system.

President Trump revealed that China stole the voter registration data of 220 million Americans as part of his primetime speech on Thursday.
“Over a period of years, starting during the 2020 election cycle, the People’s Republic of China carried out what is believed to be the largest compromise of election data in history, resulting in China’s illicit acquisition of 220 million U.S. voter files,” Trump said in remarks from the East Room of the White House.
“That information includes names, addresses, phone numbers, political party preferences, and other sensitive data that would be needed to register to vote and engage in other nefarious activities, which is exactly what was happening,” the president continued. “This data loss presents an unprecedented election security nightmare.
But Democrats are still pretending voter ID is some cruel and unusual punishment.
Election integrity is not a partisan issue, it is an AMERICAN ISSUE.

Meanwhile, Olive Garden is asking customers to identify themselves before releasing the Alfredo, and civilization managed to continue on without falling apart.
Maybe our election officials should schedule a meeting over unlimited salad and breadsticks to discuss a new plan? Because if Olive Garden can protect a pasta promotion, the most powerful country in the world should be able to protect an election.

Olive Garden is giving Americans something to chew on: It’s making it clear that you are not allowed to sign up for its “Never-Ending Pasta Pass” without a valid photo I.D.
That makes the pasta pass more secure than elections in 14 states and D.C., including California, Illinois, and New York.
Olive Garden did not respond to critics who say it is making it harder for black Americans and married women to get access to Fettuccine Alfredo.

Apparently, the “pasta pass” deserves tighter security than the US presidency. But hey, democracy might be negotiable, but those buttery breadsticks are locked down.
