Last Wednesday (Feb 11) Attorney General Pam Bondi shocked the Democrats of the House Judiciary by turning out, although a Blonde, not to be a vapid bimbo. She disrupted their attempt to make Epstein document release hearings into a Trump-bashing circus saying
“None of them asked [former Attorney General] Merrick Garland, over the last four years, one word about Jeffrey Epstein. How ironic is that? You know why? Because Donald Trump.”
The whole performance reminded me of a headline in a British newspaper after a particularly raucous British Commonwealth conference: Thatcher in Vancouver: Commonwealth at bay.
But the thrust which unleashed the greatest flow of pompous outrage is in the New York Post headline to the article from which the above quote is also drawn: Pam Bondi explodes at Jamie Raskin, Dems during House Judiciary hearing in fiery clash: ‘Washed-up, loser lawyer’ She added “ – not even a lawyer.”.
Many in the MSM and blogosphere have preened over Raskin having graduated from Harvard and Harvard Law School and having been a Law Professor for 27 years.
However anyone alert to how America actually works will see that Bondi’s remarks appear accurate. By the time Raskin was applying to University in 1979, Harvard had almost completed the extirpation of the WASP families who founded and for centuries financed it. The School’s new mission was the recruitment and reinforcement of America’s Left Nomenklatura, perforce heavily Jewish. Ditto Harvard Law. Raskin, with a prominent Leftist father and Jewish was perfectly qualified. Of course, he must be tolerably bright, but probably no more than the scores, possibly hundreds of applicants rejected for having unsuitable profiles.
Furthermore, Bondi seems to be right about his legal career. In 1990, 7 years after getting out of law school Raskin took refuge at the American University Washington School of Law remaining on the staff there until 2017. His Wikipedia entry makes no mention of where he practiced law before that, which is unusual in his very snobbish profession (he does not hide his Schools). In 2025, US News & World Report ranked the School #104 (tie) out of 195 Best Law Schools.
In short, Raskin’s career as a practicing lawyer was undistinguished and his career as a legal academic not impressive. If his early trajectory is taken at face value, he fizzled. Bondi has a reasonable case.
However, a VDARE loyalist feels Bondi let Raskin off too lightly. He points to Raskin’s prominent role in the Stalinist House Jan.6 committee and to his anti- Nation record and heritage.
Personally, I think there was a limit to what the AG could pack into one retort but the facts pointed out to us are serious and worth documenting.
The House Jan 6 Committee opened with an utter loss of credibility when Nancy Pelosi refused to allow any genuine Republicans to be members. (The two nominal GOP members, Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger had already effectively left the Caucus, heading Left.)
Operations by the committee were so obviously partisan that by the first summer The Hill reported 58% of voters saw it as biased. In October 2022 even the NY Times was writing contemptuously
They have set themselves up…as defenders of America’s democracy… The committee has wound up too partisan to carry it out.
Among numerous derelictions which have subsequently come to light is the extremely suspicious destruction of encrypted files after the GOP took back the House in 2022.
Participation in this disgraceful farce is a blot on the record of anyone who did.
All that really needs to be said about Raskin’s overall career is that he has consistently pushed for non-citizens to be allowed to vote – going back to an academic article published in 1993. This has now effectively become Democratic Party policy: Democrats Support Illegal Alien Voting Both Implicitly And Explicitly Of course it amounts to the deliberate obliteration of the current American political community.

Raskin does indeed have a fearsome background. His father, Marcus Raskin, was a hardline pro-Communist involved with Students for a Democratic Society and was a founder of the notorious Institute of Policy Studies. The high point of his career was being a delegate in 1972 to meetings with the North Vietnamese Communists and the Khmer Rouge dominated National United Front, right as President Nixon was trying to pressure the Hanoi into a Ceasefire.
With the demise of the Soviet Union and the peculiar evolution of China into a market economy Despotism, recognizing and naming the animal formerly known as Communist has difficulties. Peter Brimelow addressed this in Trump’s Indictment—Like I Said, This Is A Communist Coup. One idea suggested has been reviving the word Jacobin: Totalitarian, Perverted Antifa Is Just Jacobinism Reborn.

This covers the phenomenon of political fanatics eager to use power to interfere extensively with people’s lives, but without a strong interest in how the economy operates or loyalty to a particular foreign State.
As the staggering and disproportionate ferocity directed at January 6 protesters showed these people are already empowered here. Given a chance, they will certainly enjoy inflicting the Stalin era atrocities in which the cousins the Raskins left behind in Russia no doubt participated.

The ship which brought the Raskin family to these shores did America a great disservice.
