This is the kind of story that will make you realize just how deeply rooted DEI is in our country.

But after pressure from the Trump admin, things have gotten a lot quieter, way more bureaucratic, and more secretly embedded.

Which brings us to Penn State and their law students. A new secret recording has revealed that the school is pushing students through a mandatory “anti-racism” course that sounds like typical DEI reprogramming.

What’s really scary is that these are future prosecutors, judges, clerks, public defenders, attorneys, law professors, and government lawyers. They’re being trained and programmed at the entry point of the justice system with a very dangerous left-wing ideology. And this secret audio reveals that these PC lawyers have some twisted duty to recognize, disrupt, and dismantle all systems of racism, subordination, oppression, white supremacy, and patriarchy.

That’s what Penn State calls legal education and training. The rest of us call that “radicalization,” or “progressive ideology with a really hefty tuition bill.

And after you hear this recording, you get why so many Americans believe the justice system has been fully weaponized by the left. If law students are being told from day one that the system is built around oppression and must be dismantled, then what exactly are they being trained to do? Is this about actually applying the law or reshaping it around a twisted and failed political worldview?

That’s the real danger here.

And putting DEI in law school like this is what we like to call a “downstream power” move.

That means influence that starts in one place and shows up somewhere more important down the road.

This is the mindset that eventually moves into courtrooms, prosecutors’ offices, legal clinics, bar associations, clerkships, and government agencies. The students sitting through this class today may be the people deciding charges, interpreting statutes, shaping policy, and judging ordinary Americans tomorrow.

Reporter Aaron Sibarium from Free Beacon shared the secret audio from Penn State’s mandatory anti-racism programming for first-year law students, and it’s quite stunning.

Students are told this training isn’t optional. They are told that being a “good lawyer” means paying attention to these DEI/woke-style concepts. They’re brought into what one speaker calls a “broader coalition” to build a more anti-racist approach to law and legal systems.

This is a complete ideological takeover of the judicial system at the ground level.

Aaron Sibarium:

NEW: In a mandatory anti-racism class, Penn State told 1L law students they must “acknowledge the reality of systemic racism” and “dismantle systems that racialize, subordinate, and oppress.”

One student withdrew from the law school over the class. We obtained shocking audio.🧵

David Blackman, a former 911 call operator and a veteran of the Texas State Guard, was thrilled to be going to law school at Penn State.

Then he sat through the first session of “Race and the Equal Protection of the Laws,” a required first year course.

Blackman listened as a transgender faculty member, Emily Spottswood, explained why the course was mandatory. “It’s not optional,” Spottswood said, because “being a lawyer is about recognizing and combating injustice.”

audio of the session obtained by the Free Beacon, Spottswood said that this “institutional message” was “baked into” the law school’s “DNA,” adding that, as a “trans woman,” the course’s focus on “combatting oppression … is meaningful to me.”

Spottswood’s remarks followed a presentation by Jeffrey Dodge, the law school’s associate dean, and Shaakirrah Sanders, who was introduced as “the first associate Dean of anti-racism and critical pedagogy in the country.”

The presentation made clear that Blackman wasn’t in Texas anymore; he and his classmates were now conscripts in a political “coalition” that, as Dodge put it in his talk, was dedicated to “building a more anti-racist” future.

“We are taking action to disrupt and dismantle systems that racialize, subordinate, and oppress,” Dodge said. “We … want to acknowledge the reality of systemic racism … as a foundation for this course.”

We encourage you to read the entire Free Beacon piece here.

Law school should be about teaching students to think clearly, argue honestly, read carefully, defend constitutional principles, and apply the law. What they shouldn’t do is train future lawyers to enter the legal world believing the justice system must be weaponized and politicized.

Because if a lawyer’s first duty becomes “dismantling systems,” then we’ve already lost the battle.

We’ve reported for years on how deeply rooted DEI is in our schools. But after the George Floyd incident, things ramped up even more. When Trump came in, he began targeting DEI, and thanks to him and the Supreme Court, higher education was forced to take a step back.

But that didn’t mean DEI was dead and gone.

Revolver:

We can hope, of course. Harvard and MIT are both trendsetters for the schools just below them on the prestige ladder. Odds are good that, at least at America’s top schools and any public college in a red state, much-hated “diversity statements” will soon be a thing of the past.

But don’t get too thrilled just yet. Abolishing diversity statements is not the same thing as abolishing the diversity cult itself. The situation in academia is improving in some respects, but for now it remains a matter of tiny marginal improvements to a vast, utterly rotten edifice. The state of affairs in academia today is such that broad swathes of entire disciplines—not just fake DEI disciplines—have become utterly corroded by DEI.

The triumphalism over vanishing diversity statements operates on the assumption that said statements are a primary driver of anti-white and anti-male discrimination in academia. In reality, though, these statements are simply the product of a DEI-obsessed culture that exists on a deeper level. Mandatory statements during the hiring process make it easier and smoother to reject white male applicants, but the intent to reject them as often as possible was there long before. This discriminatory intent means that DEI (or woke, or race communist, pick your term of choice) priorities now pervade almost every aspect of the academic sausage-making process—to a degree that would shock most Americans. Unless this process is reformed (or, more likely, torn out at the root and replaced), universities will continue their downward spiral toward useless mediocrity.

This is a great piece to read right now, in light of this latest DEI bombshell:

The Secret George Floyd Effect: DEI Rot in Universities Is Deeper and Darker Than You Imagine

This is exactly why DEI in education, especially higher education and the justice system, is so dangerous. In law school, this ideology doesn’t stay on campus. It puts on a suit and walks straight into the courtroom.
