Dems have a very big problem heading into the final stretch of the midterms…
Republicans are starting to believe they can win.
Once voters start thinking a race is alive, enthusiasm goes up, money starts moving, volunteers are ready, and people who might’ve stayed home suddenly have a reason to get off the couch and vote.
And right now, several Senate races that looked very friendlier to Dems are getting a tad too close for comfort.
New Hampshire has just moved into toss-up territory. Michigan is getting mighty tight. Minnesota suddenly looks a whole lot more interesting than Dems probably expected. Georgia, North Carolina, Iowa, and Ohio are all getting serious attention too.
That creates a really big problem for Democrats on both ends.
First, they need their own voters motivated enough to show up, which is tough for them right now, especially with a lot of Marxist radicals on the ballot. And the last thing they need is a now fired-up Republican base convinced the momentum is shifting their way.
And this is where the messaging game gets very interesting and crafty.
Right now all the doom and gloom aimed at Republican voters is serving a pretty clear purpose: make the Right think the election is already over while convincing Democrats that the stakes are so dire they absolutely have to vote.
And that doom and gloom comes in absurd polls, puff pieces on unpopular candidates, and this overall feeling that the midterms are over for the right.
But look beyond the usual left-wing pysops, and you’ll see a very nervous Dem Party. So much so that you now have proud Marxist Hasan Piker coming out and telling his radical audience that even an establishment Democrat is worth supporting if it weakens Republican power.
That tells you a lot about how seriously the Left is taking turnout.
Piker is about as far from an establishment Democrat as you can get, but his message here is basically: forget everything I said, and vote for that establishment loser I taught you to hate.
That’s a pretty big indication that Dems have a “turnout” and “enthusiasm” problem. Especially from someone like him, whose audience spends their day trashing mainstream Dems.
Resist the Mainstream Media:
Hasan Piker labels the Republican Party as a “fascist party. He argues that the GOP is becoming a “fascist party ideologically” in the US. He said that any effort to weaken Republican power could be “beneficial,” even if it means putting an establishment Democrat in office.

Meanwhile, Republicans are getting some news that gives their own voters the exact opposite message.
These races aren’t dead.
Not even close…
The Breitbart piece lays out the map.
As we said earlier, a handful of races that Dems would love to have safely tucked away in the “W” category are looking much tighter.
Breitbart:
Days after the convention in Dallas, the Democrat-held New Hampshire flipped to a toss-up race, and a new Minnesota poll put Michele Tafoya tied in a state Republicans haven’t won statewide in two decades. Various Michigan polls show the race in a dead heat. Meanwhile, races in Georgia, Iowa, North Carolina, and Ohio remain competitive, setting up a final seven weeks in which several states could prove decisive.
That’s a very different picture from “Republicans are toast.” Of course, this doesn’t mean we just stop fighting and pushing, but you get the picture, it’s not all doom and gloom.
Dems are nervous for a reason.
The Breitbart piece talks about Chris Pappas in New Hampshire and Peggy Flanagan in Minnesota, both warning supporters that their races are getting dangerously close.
Breitbart:
Pappas, on the other hand, is panicking over the race becoming a toss-up, raising the red flag to supporters in a campaign update titled “I won’t sugarcoat this.” He admitted, “This race is tightening, and we have a lot of work to do,” before begging supporters for more money.
The red shift is growing even in traditionally blue Minnesota. Following August’s primaries in Minnesota, Democrat candidate Peggy Flanagan held a five point lead over Tafoya. Now, the race is tied with each candidate at 42 percent according to Minnesota’s top pollster.
Flanagan served as lieutenant governor under Tim Walz for eight years, and the Walz-Flanagan administration oversaw more than $9 billion in alleged fraud. That has only hurt Flanagan in her run for Senate, as Minnesota voters list fraud as a top issue in this year’s race.
Meanwhile, former NFL sideline reporter Tafoya is gaining steam and is hopeful for a win that Republicans haven’t had in a statewide election since 2006. And Flanagan is well-aware of Tafoya’s increasing momentum. In a panicked email to her supporters this week, Flanagan told donors the race is “razor-close” and “there’s no room for error.”
There’s kinda two things happening at once right now… because if Republican voters think everything is hopeless, many stay home.
And if Dem voters think they’ve already got it in the bag, many of them stay home too.
Neither party wants that problem.
So Dems are telling their voters the danger is real. And Republicans are telling their voters the comeback is very real.
But the good news for us is that Dems are spending heavily in places where Republicans are forcing them to defend seats instead of simply cruising toward Election Day.
Breitbart:
But the panic isn’t just from the candidates themselves. The DSCC, who El-Sayed pleaded with for money this week, also raised the alarm of the growing Republican momentum, telling its supporters, “We must defend blue seats and flip red seats to win the majority.”
Even in states where Democrats have a slight lead over Republicans, they’re feeling the pressure. Republicans are also forcing Democrats to spend heavily in Georgia, where Sen. Jon Ossoff is defending his seat against Rep. Mike Collins. Collins has appeared alongside Trump administration officials and at the Georgia Faith & Freedom Coalition’s victory dinner, while a Trump-aligned super PAC has reserved more than $2 million in the state.
Democrats, meanwhile, are pouring resources into protecting Ossoff. Senate Majority PAC reserved $20 million for the race, and Ossoff has directed more than $3.6 million into the Georgia Democratic Party’s coordinated campaign as he works to increase voter participation alongside gubernatorial nominee and former Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms. Democrats are right to worry about their chances in the Peach State.
Momentum is dangerous because it feeds itself.
And the barrage of hopelessness aimed at Republican voters is very much calculated.
Obviously, Republicans still have to win these races… momentum doesn’t plop an “R” butt in a Senate seat.
But Republicans believing they can win is a very different political message from Republicans believing the whole thing is a lost cause.
And with less than 50 days to go, Dems clearly understand that too…
Let the games begin.
