Something strange happens right before the biggest changes — the longest periods of uncertainty. You spend months or even years thinking nothing is happening. You feel like everyone else is moving forward while you’re standing still. But what if you’re not standing still? What if you are changing in ways you cannot yet see? Sometimes life first has to break down the version of yourself that can’t possibly lead the life you want. Old beliefs fade. Old relationships change. Doors close. Plans fall apart. And you start to wonder what you did wrong.
Maybe nothing is wrong at all. Maybe you are simply outgrowing the life you’re clinging to so tightly. A seed disappears into the darkness before it becomes visible above ground. It looks as if nothing is happening, but underneath, everything is happening. Roots are forming. Pressure is building. Something is preparing to emerge. Your life works the same way. The chapter where it seems like nothing is happening may be the very chapter where everything is realigning.
