Maine lawmakers send letter to AG Bondi to review certain state energy programs

Tevin McLeod - April 19, 2025

AUGUSTA, Maine (WGME) — Maine Rep. Mike Soboleski, (R-Phillips), sent a letter to US Attorney General Pam Bondi, asking the Justice Department to review certain state energy programs.

It was co-signed by dozens of high-ranking Republicans.

The letter points to the Net Energy Billing program, offshore wind development, and regional greenhouse gas initiative.

He suggests these and other programs might conflict with President Donald Trump’s executive order titled “Protecting American Energy from State Overreach.”
