MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (WVVA) – According to a press release, Governor Patrick Morrisey and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. will be appearing together in Martinsburg on Friday.

The two are at set to “make announcements” regarding food dyes and proposed changes to SNAP in a press conference at St. Joseph School.

Gov. Morrisey recently signed legislation that will ban certain dyes in school lunches beginning in August, and state-wide beginning in 2028.

A bill was also introduced in the house that would make certain “unhealthy” foods ineligible for SNAP benefits, though no movement has been made on that piece of legislation since February.

The press conference is set to start at 10am and will be livestreamed on the Governor’s social media pages.
