LANSING, Mich. (TNND) — President Donald Trump will hold a rally in Michigan on Tuesday to mark his first 100 days in office.
“President Trump is excited to return to the great state of Michigan next Tuesday, where he will rally in Macomb County to celebrate the FIRST 100 DAYS!” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Wednesday on X.
Michigan was a key battleground state that Trump narrowly won over from Kamala Harris in November.
Since taking office, Trump has not traveled much and has only taken official trips to visit disaster zones in North Carolina and California and to hold an event in Las Vegas to promote his plan of eliminating taxes on tips.
Trump will travel to Rome this weekend for Pope Francis’ funeral, the first foreign trip of his second term.
Trump’s upcoming trip to Michigan comes after he surprised Gov. Gretchen Whitmer by bringing her into the Oval Office after she expected a private meeting.
A photo taken by The New York Times shows the exact moment Whitmer tried to hide her face behind two blue folders she was carrying.
